The Scottish Borders is a picturesque region located in the southeast of Scotland. It lies between the bustling cities of Edinburgh and Newcastle providing easy access to urban amenities while maintaining a tranquil, rural charm. The economy of the region is diverse and robust encompassing various key sectors including textiles, agriculture, tourism and renewable energy.
The region offers an exceptional quality of life with affordable housing, excellent schools and healthcare. Rich in culture, with annual festivals, local markets, a thriving arts scene and an abundance of outdoor activities from hiking and cycling to fishing and golfing. The town of Galashiels was named among the UK's happiest places to live with the location coming in at 15 on the Rightmove list in December 2023.
