Company Overview
Who we are
We are a charity that works to drive social mobility and raise aspirations.
We empower people of all ages with the confidence, skills and knowledge to move forward in education, training and employment.
Our services include:
Professional careers guidance and employer encounters in schools. We work in more than 200 schools across the country.
For pupils, our services include 1-2-1 careers advice, careers fairs and mock interviews, work experience and enterprise sessions.
Get Connected is a new digital tool designed to inform and inspire students as they explore their career options throughout years 7 to 13 – while providing vital insights to schools. Designed by our careers professionals, it brings careers activities, monitoring and analysis together in one place, allowing schools to quickly see the full impact of their careers-related activities.
For school leaders and careers leads, services include The Quality in Careers Standard, Tailored CPD sessions, Level 6 qualification in CEIAG and the Careers Leaders qualification.
Support for young people who are at risk of, or are Not in Education, Employment or Training (NEET), reaching those who are vulnerable or from disadvantaged groups. We deliver NEET services on behalf of a number of local authorities. In 2022/23 we were responsible for tracking and support services for 35,998 young people across local authority NEET (not in education, employment or training) contracts, including providing substantive support to 18,934.With a focus on bespoke, person-centred support, we have seen significant success with targeted programmes including Connect To Your Future (Greater Manchester, commissioned by GMCA) and Pathways to Employment (St Helens).
Employment, Education and Training support to offenders and ex-offenders in prison or on license, on probation and in the community, through our wholly-owned subsidiary, Achieve. Examples of our impact in this area include the Discovery Wing project at HMP Risley, delivered on behalf of HMPPS CFO3
Delivering a range of fully accessible, accredited training programmes for careers and advice and guidance professionals, face-to-face and digitally. We were the first careers organisation in the country to achieve Licensed Awarding Body status for the Quality in Careers Standard. We are also approved by the Matrix accreditation body, the Department for Education’s standard for ensuring the quality of the delivery of high-quality information, advice and guidance.
Our outplacement service helps businesses and individuals deal with redundancy and move on to new opportunities.
Shaping evidence-based policy and services through research:
We are committed to producing research and making evidence-based recommendations to national and local government, and the careers sector as a whole.
We regularly contribute to the All Party Parliamentary Group (APPG) on Youth Employment and respond to national announcements.
As providers of services for young people and adults, we are committed to amplifying our clients’ voices when it comes to shaping policy and practice.
Our work has included research into careers provision for home educated young people, locally-focussed solutions in addressing youth unemployment, and how mental health is impacting young people’s access to education, employment and training. We have also analysed national figures on post-prison employment.
